Progress on W:AGP and a new desktop!

I've been making good progress on the fifth issue of Wolfram: A Gothic Parable.  Its progress currently stands at about 46% (rough estimate).  You can visit the blog for a teaser page, a compelling parable told by Isolda Steinbrecher to her captor Markos of Corinth.

Also, there's a new wallpaper!  I'll be adding it to the Wallpapers tab, but here's a copy of it in the meantime, in two different sizes/aspect ratios:
1440 x 900 pixels (15 in MacBook Pro)
1920 x 1080 pixels (the somewhat-standard desktop screen)

inspiration + graphic novel desktop wallpaper = productive-ish

Part I: The Inspiration

"Just Go Home, They Said"
When life gets you down, and everyone tells you to just go home and that you'll never accomplish your life's dream, remember this drawing of a sheep studying advanced chemistry, and know that, while the imagery is contrived from the mind of a silly dreamer, the moral lesson of the situation portrayed is perfectly sound in principle—we think.

Part II: The Desktop

"Pay Attention, Students" - desktop background
Close-combat trainer Charlotte MacBeth (a.k.a. "Charlie") bids her pupils attend the lesson to be taught, and learn.  After all, they didn't give her the individual designation of "Experience" without an awfully good reason.

Desktop background - "Scruffy Greets the Neighbors"

"Scruffy Greets the Neighbors"
A scruffy mutt comes to call on his bovine neighbors in the field for his usual play date.

Wallpaper - Isolda's perch

Tired of your desktop icons misbehaving?  Let Isolda Steinbrecher sit upon this rock and stare down your unruly icons into submission.  She'll keep a good, solid eye on those miscreant little thumbnail graphics while you're AFK (away from keyboard).  It's a very unlikely scenario, but I'm sure some of you have such problems.

Wallpaper from Workin' Dogs - "The Awful Night Guard"

This was originally to be a panel from a Sunday edition of a Workin' Dogs comic—way back a few years ago.

Another desktop wallpaper: "A casual game of chess"

This new wallpaper has been added to my desktop wallpaper collection.  Karsten and Isolda face off in a death match of the wits, a battle involving risks, ventures, and ultimately, regicide—in another word, "chess."

A Good-Morning Desktop

And now it's time for a nerd culture pop quiz!

I am posting this wallpaper...
a) ...to wish you a good morning.
b) ...because it is a good morning, whether you want it or not.
c) ...because I feel good on this particular morning.
d) ...simply to say this is a morning to be good on.
e) ...for all the reasons listed above.

This quiz question was derived from The Hobbit movie, and possibly also the book.  I haven't actually read it since the sixth grade, and my memory isn't quite as good as this morning is.

"Home from a Successful Hunt" and "Cloud Games" desktops

Two new versions of the previous wallpapers, with solid backgrounds, as promised.

If anyone wants me to remake them with different background colors, it's really as simple like flipping a switch, with a minor tweak to the Wolfram: A Gothic Parable logo to match; and I'd be happy to oblige!

Send an email to me: emuntzster@gmail.com with a small image file bearing a swatch of the color you want or the six-character web code for the color.  Thanks!

New desktop backgrounds

EDIT: This didn't work so well on a Windows desktop.  I'll be uploading opaque versions soon.

I made a desktop background (1920 x 1080 resolution) of the last post with color.
Isolda's chibi version plays a young, idealist, and possibly naive little wolf who goes "hunting" and comes back with vegetables. desktop wallpaper background

I made it for me, but if you want it for your background, you are most welcome to it.  It's a .png file with transparency, so you can choose what color to make it the screen behind the wolf cub.

And here's another one called Cloud Games:
