Language Barrier

Enter Cream, the mid- to late-life Jersey cow with a string of pearls around her neck. Apparently friends with Dr. Spot; their common bond is probably that they both know Dr. Milkcowski. I used some cut-and-paste for this one. You may notice that both the first and the third frames are exactly the same, pixel for pixel.

This could take a while....

See ya later, Cats and Kittens!

This is supposed to take place at a coffee shop, or a school hangout, or whatever. It was my favorite one to draw of the ones published in the Eastern Echo (well, one of them), because I got to draw Jonathan dancing like a fool. Jonathan represents me to some degree. Sometime, I've just gotta bring you up to date on the relationships between these characters...but the comics are supposed to do that anyway. As you may see, Jonathan has a crush on Kate.

Remember to read starting with the bottom paragraph, btw.

Not that it (what's below, not what's above) matters, of course.

Names that you may eventually see include Valedict, Graice, Faukesi (sounds like foxy, after the Faukesian mask featured on a character in V for Vendetta), and maybe some others that I haven't thought up yet. I should set up a poll for some names, but Faukesi is already a name that I have in reserve for Dogface Dafoe. He doesn't like his name.

Jonathan is not suggesting here Beowulf Hoffman date outside of his species. He is simply insulting him. Why Beowulf? The original name of the character in earlier ideas was Wolf (pronounced volf), a common name in some German-speaking countries. I like to manipulate names that I like into names that I really like. Of course, Beowulf was the hero of an Old-English epic poem.

Don't forget to click on them.

The dots in this comic worked pretty well. I was originally going to have Jonathan talking to Dr. Milkcowski. If you don't understand the joke...cows are ruminants. They chew on food that has already been in their stomach. The St. Patty's day comic was another comic that utilized the idea of rumination.

The comics, of course!

I now have a job at a burger place unlike any other. Expensive, but great. I'm really just getting used to it right now, but anyway...

I've added carats to help you remember which way to read...kinda like in those Manga books, huh? Anyhow, it could be quite some time before you've been brought up-to-date on the comics, even with publishing three a day when Hand in Paw runs once a week in the Echo

Good.

Next 3 Comics!

I drew this one in Florida while staying with my aunt and uncle. Not much to be said about it, really.

Like the comic in Kickoff, this was a comic that I redrew. It leads up to the story where Johnny meets his love interest, Dr. Spot, whom you met in an earlier comic, and who appears in Little Johnny's thought balloon in the comic below. I admit these comics are a little out of sequence. I'm not including the whole story of how Spot met Johnny, just because it was never published.

This comic was actually published second in the Echo. My editor didn't like it because some of the shading was done with a brand of art marker I personally have no real use for, plus the choice of value (light/dark) wasn't all that carefully done.
